WNC Pottery Festival

WNC Pottery Festival

The first weekend in November brings something special to the Smoky mountains of North Carolina. The Western North Carolina Pottery Festival has been named one of the TOP 20 Events in the southeast for November. Artisans from all over the world converge on Front street in Dillsboro to sale, display and demonstrate their work. Every 30 minutes, watch throwing and firing demonstrations. On the Friday before the festival, watch potters compete in the Clay Olympics, an old-fashioned “throw down” to see who can make the largest cylinder and the widest bowl from five pounds of clay in five minutes; who can throw the best creation from two pounds of clay in two minutes while blind-folded; and a surprise event that will not be revealed to the participants until the start of the games.

So rent a house for the weekend and have a perfect Smoky Mountain Getaway!
